SWFWMD:
This data set were created to show the locations of proposed District
owned land. It should be used for cartographic and resource management
purposes only.

Overlay of acquired maps with 1:24000 USGS quadrangle maps and
comparisons of relatively well-defined features such as roads and rivers
determined the accuracy to be +/- 13 meters. The above value is estimated
to meet National Map Accuracy Standards for 1:24,000 maps.

These files are continuously updated as new lands are proposed or acquired.

SFWMD:

This layer includes parcels that have been acquired by the District or
proposed for acquisition. It does not include lands owned by other organizations,
in general. It is one of many data sets that show boundaries and attributes
of property parcels related to District projects. It is a compilation of coverages
of individual properties or groups of properties. Other related layers are the
District Right of Ways, CERP Project boundaries, Save Our Rivers Project
Boundaries, Public Lands, and digital county parcel maps. These maps are
used by many different business functions at SFWMD and other agencies.
The official and most current version of lands for acquisition is maintained
by the Land Acquisition Division, named 'sfwownall'.

Boundary lines are derived primarily from digital versions of county parcel
maps. It should be noted that the boundaries contained in this dataset are
based on the best information available at the time of entry. Although some
boundaries are based on survey data, this dataset is a graphical representation
and should be construed as such. In no way should this data be construed
as survey accurate.

A detailed guide to this data base is not available at this time, and is not
essential for general usage and understanding. Users should note that
there is a substantial body of information about the projects themselves
on the Land Acquisition web site as well as others.

For more information about the Land Acquisition Program and related
projects, users should visit the applicable intraweb and internet web
sites. A central site for Land Acquisition is at https://www.sfwmd.gov/doing-business-with-us/real-estate.
Along with general information about the program, this site contains a
detailed description of each project and maps at different scales.

Project information is also available at the site:

GeoPlan downloaded this dataset from the Northwest Florida Water Management District website (http://www.nwfwmd.state.fl.us/data-publications/gis-mapping/gis-data-directory) in January 2015. There have been no updates available since January 2015. The data was downloaded as two separate shapefiles (NWFWD_CE_201406 and NWFWD_Ownership_201406) that were in the following projection: NAD_1983_UTM_Zone_16N. The datasets were projected to FGDL Albers HPGN. NWFWD_Ownership_201406 represents NWFWMD lands and NWFWD_CE_201406 represents NWFWMD conservation easements. A new shapefile was exported with only the fields that are now available. Additional table information is available for each water management district in the shapefiles used to compile this dataset. See each individual water management districts download sites for these datasets. The two shapefiles were merged using the Merge command in ArcCatalog to create a single shapefile containing district parcels and conservation easements for NWFWMD. - All fields in the table were upcased. - An ACRES field was added and calculated using the ESRI tool calculate geometry. - A DLANDTYPE field was added based on the type of district owned land. This was determined using the TYPE field. - This layer previously included information in a field called funding which associated features with the Save Our Rivers program. This field was not included with the current update so no Save Our Rivers information is available. - A DESCRIPT field was added based on DLANDTYPE - A FGDLAQDATE field was added based on date downloaded from source - Original file names were NWFWD_CE_201406 and NWFWD_Ownership_201406 Process Date: 20150106
ST. JOHNS WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: Feature Class was imported into new geodatabase and reprojected into UTM Harn Zone 17 from State Plane East NAD 83 Process Date: 200601
GeoPlan received this dataset in three separate parts from the St. Johns River Water Management District. District parcels, conservations easements, and potential acquisitions were received via email from Jill Stokes (JStokes@sjrwmd.com) in July of 2019. The data layers district parcels and conversation easements are available at the SJRWMD open data website: (http://data.floridaswater.opendata.arcgis.com/). However, GeoPlan was advised that these files on the Open Data Portal may be out of date. District parcels, conservations easements, and potential acquisitions were received as an Esri 10.4 geodatabase. Each data set was exported to shapefile. These three shapefiles were in the following projection: NAD 1983 HARN UTM Zone 17N. Each dataset was projected from NAD 1983 HARN UTM Zone 17N to FGDL Albers HPGN Each shapefile was exported with only the fields that are now available. Additional table information is available for each water management district in the shapefiles used to compile this dataset. See each individual water management districts download sites for these datasets. The three shapefiles were merged using the Merge command in ArcCatalog to create a single shapefile containing district parcels, conservation easements, and potential acquisitions for SJRWMD. - Upcased all records in the table. - An ACRES field was added and calculated using the ESRI tool calculate geometry. - A DLANDTYPE field was added based on the type of district owned land. This was determined using the TYPE field, in this case ACQ_SYM. - Added a DESCRIPT field based on DLANDTYPE. - Added a FGDLAQDATE field based on date downloaded from source - Original file names were SJRWMD_Individual_Parcels, District_Owned_Conservation_Easements, and DistrictLands_PotentialAcquistion. Process Date: 20190729
SUWANNEE RIVER WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: GeoPlan received this dataset from the Suwannee River Water Management District via email in July 2019. The data contact was Paul Buchanan (paul.buchanan@srwmd.org). The data was downloaded as a shapefile and was in the following projection: NAD_1983_HARN_StatePlane_Florida_North_FIPS_0903_Feet. The dataset was projected to FGDL Albers HPGN. A new shapefile was exported with only the fields that are now available. Additional table information is available for each water management district in the shapefiles used to compile this dataset. See each individual water management districts download sites for these datasets. - All fields in the table were upcased. - An ACRES field was added and calculated using the ESRI tool calculate geometry. - A DLANDTYPE field was added based on the type of district owned land. This was determined using the TYPE field, in this case the INTEREST field. - A DESCRIPT field was added based on DLANDTYPE - A FGDLAQDATE field was added based on date downloaded from source - Original file name was LAM_Ownership Process Date: 20190725
SOUTHWEST FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: PROPOSED Areas targeted for acquisition were delineated on USGS 7.5 quadrangles or paper copies of USGS color infrared (CIR) DOQQ's. Process Date: Unknown USGS 1:24,000 Quadrangles were tied down with a minimum of four control points. Project boundaries were digitized onscreen using ArcEdit software with the USGS color infrared DOQQ's as a backdrop. Topology was generated using the ArcINFO BUILD command. Attribute items were added to the feature attribute table and the appropriate attribute assigned to each polygon. The method of choice now is to use heads-up digitizing on-screen with the DOQQ's as a backdrop in ArcEdit. Process Date: 20070720 In October 2009, the District's enterprise SDE vector data layers were re-projected from UTM to State Plane Feet. At this same time the data layers were loaded into SDE using ESRI's Spatial Data Type. The new data type allows users to use SQL queries for spatial inquiries. Process Date: 20091002 AQUIRED FEE AND LESS-THAN-FEE ACQUISITIONS This layer is derived from the District's Land Parcel layer. The ArcINFO DISSOLVE command was used to eliminate internal parcel lines and leave only the exterior project boundaries. A metadata report for the Parcel layer is available from the District. Each new parcel is combined with the existing coverage and attributed within ArcEdit. Topology is created for the coverage using CLEAN or BUILD. Since 2003, either a shapefile that is created in AutoCAD Map or a DXF file is provided of the parcel boundary. The file's projection is defined and then projected using ArcToolBox. The parcel is then combined with the existing Parcel feature class and attributed within ArcMap. The topology is validated and any errors corrected. The ground control surveys used for creating the majority of these data were made by the Survey section of the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD). Some surveys were completed by individual survey firms under contract to the seller, but had to meet the Southwest Florida Water Management District Survey Section's requirements. A Professional Surveyor verified these from the Survey section of the SWFWMD. For large multi-parcel acquisition projects, such as the Green Swamp and Annutteliga Hammock, surveys were not obtained for the small tracts (most are less than 20 acres). Sketches were made based on the legal descriptions. These projects are located in Lake, Polk and Hernando counties. Process Date: 20091002 Process Date: 20091002
GeoPlan downloaded district_lands_acquired from the Southwest Florida Water Management District website: (http://data.swfwmd.opendata.arcgis.com/) in July 2019. Proposed_SWFWMD_Acquisitions were received via email from Deborah Gillett (Debbie.Gillett@swfwmd.state.fl.us) on August 1st, 2019. Each dataset was received as shapefiles and were in the following projection: NAD_1983_UTM_Zone_17N. The datasets were merged and projected to FGDL Albers HPGN. This was determined using the TYPE field, in this case the ACQ_TYPE field. - A DESCRIPT field was added based on DLANDTYPE - A FGDLAQDATE field was added based on date downloaded from source - Original file names were District_Lands_Acquired and Proposed_SWFWMD_Acquisitions Process Date: 20190801
SOUTH FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: Parcels included in this data base are those for which the District has obtained an interest (fee, easement, flow easement, etc.) or have been proposed for acquisition. For more information about the selection process see the land acquisition web site at http://www.sfwmd.gov/site/index.php?id=10. The primary source of parcel boundary lines is the digital parcel boundary data derived from county programs. These are transferred or copied from district copies of the county layers. Parcel information maintained in an Oracle data base has been joined to the GIS spatial layers, and additional fields added, to produce the coverage attribute tables. Process Date: Unknown
