USER NOTES:
This data is provided 'as is'. GeoPlan relied on the integrity
of the original data layer's topology
This data is provided 'as is' by GeoPlan and is complete to our
knowledge.
GeoPlan relied on the integrity of the attribute information within
the original data.
What is Geocoding?
Geocoding is term used to describe the act of address matching. Geocoding
is the process of finding a geographic location (x, y point) for an address
(such as street number and name, city, state, and ZIP Code) on a map.
Geocoding is based off the typical address scheme for the US, in which one
side of the street contains even house numbers while the other side of the
street contains odd house numbers.

The geocoding process uses an algorithm to find the geographic location
of addresses. First, a street segment is identified using the zip code and
street name. Next, the geographic location of the address is matched using
the building number to determine how far down the street and on which side
of the street the building is located.

Geocoding Accuracy
The locational accuracy of geocoded addresses may vary from urban to rural
areas due to the algorithm used to generate the geographic locations of
addresses. The algorithm assumes that the size of parcels are equivalent
along a road route. This assumption tends to be more consistent in urban
areas, where the size of parcels vary less than in rural areas.
Consequently, the results of geocoded addresses in urban areas are usually
more reliable than those in rural areas.

For example, the locational accuracy of rural addresses can be slightly
off because some parcels along a rural route may be 15 acres while others
may be 2.5 acres, but the geocoding algorithm assumes that the addresses
are distributed evenly along the route.

The data was created to serve as base information for use in GIS systems
for a variety of planning and analytical purposes.

A note about data scale:

Scale is an important factor in data usage. Certain scale datasets
are not suitable for some project, analysis, or modeling purposes.
Please be sure you are using the best available data.

1:24000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
county level.
1:24000 data should NOT be used for high accuracy base mapping such
as property parcel boundaries.
1:100000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
multi-county or regional level.
1:125000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
regional or state level or larger.

Vector datasets with no defined scale or accuracy should be
considered suspect. Make sure you are familiar with your data
before using it for projects or analysis. Every effort has been
made to supply the user with data documentation. For additional
information, see the References section and the Data Source Contact
section of this documentation. For more information regarding
scale and accuracy, see our webpage at:

===================================================================================== Process Steps for Religious Centers from SuperPage in 2005: Information from the 2005 geocoded data set was retained; this data was retained for two reasons: 1. The Yellow Pages and Super Pages Online are paid advertising sites, some facilities may wish to discontinue their advertising with those companies but they may still exist at that address/location (i.e. Churches etc). 2. The address might have changed slightly (i.e. suite number, building number, or zip code) Because facilities in reasons one and two may still exist in the real world all the 2005 geocoded features that were not reproduced in the 2008 geocode update were re-geocoded against the 2008 TeleAtlas roads dataset. These facilities were then added to the 2009 dataset. Facilities that are part of this scenario are represented with a value of 'NIN' (Not In New) in the field called FLAG. Process Date: 20050930

===================================================================================== The GeoPlan Center performed the following steps in order to create the 2009 statewide religious centers data layer. 3 Different Sources Comprise the Dataset. The following Sources were either reprojected to the FGDL Albers NAD83 HPGN map projection or if no spatial data existed they were geocoded to a statewide 2008 TeleAtlas Streets dataset. Once the point sources were created via geocoding or reprojected existing point data they were merged into one statewide layer. Record (facility) duplications were removed by manually viewing and editing the statewide layer's attribute table for each of the 67 counties. Where record duplication existed FDEM sources took preference followed by, County data, and finally geocoded data. The geocoded points were assessed and in most cases moved to their correct nearby parcel location. For this move to occur the parcel had to have supporting evidence from the parcel's LUCODE (CHURCHES), ONAME, and/or ADDRESS field that they were the correct facility. When available Imagery was used to help I identify structures. This process was performed with aid from the PAR_RELIGION_06.shp (a statewide layer). Below are the data Sources as described in the Source field in the attribute table. Process Date: 20090319
===================================================================================== GeoPlan Center Final Process Steps: Cleaned and Populated the TYPE field. Added Fields -Added USNG1K field -Added LAT_DD field -Added LONG_DD field -Added DESCRIPT field based on TYPE -Added FLAG field to denote records from 2005 dataset -Added UPDATE_DAY field -Added FGDLAQDAT based on data of data acquisition Deleted duplicates and bad records -Manually searched dataset to delete duplicates and records that did not represent religious centers. Process Date: 20090319
===================================================================================== Data imported to ArcSDE and exported as a shapefile. Process Date: 20090417
===================================================================================== GeoPlan process steps of religious centers in 2013: Record (facility) were manually verified by viewing and editing the statewide layer's attribute table for all 67 counties. If the record was verified, the FLAG field was marked V. If the record was not verified, the FLAG field was marked NV. There were 1273 new records added and verified. Any duplicate or bad record was marked D, exported, and removed from the original dataset at the end of the verification process. Final process steps: Cleaned and Populated the TYPE field Populated the PARCEL_ID field Populated the YR_BUILT field Populated USNG1K field Populated LAT_DD field Populated LONG_DD field Populated DESCRIPT field based on TYPE Populated UPDATE_DAY field based on date of update Populated FGDLAQDATE based on date of data acquisition Deleted duplicates and bad records -Manually searched dataset to delete duplicates and records that did not represent religious centers. ===================================================================================== GeoPlan process steps of religious centers in 2015: Using information from Private Organization's websites, records were reviewed and edited to apply any available spatial and attribute updates. In most cases, religious center locations were checked using imagery and Google Street View and either marked as Verified or Not Verified in the FLAG field, please see the FLAG field Attribute Definition for more information. Any missing religious centers were located and mapped using imagery and 2014 parcel data for the State of Florida. During the Spatial and Tabular QAQC duplicates and non-qualified points were removed. The final Point layer was spatially joined to the 2014 statewide parcel layer, and the GCID field was populated with a crosswalk ID linking each point feature with it's corresponding polygon layer feature, GC_RELIGIONBND_OCT15. Finally, the GeoPlan Center performed the following attribute table adjustments: Cleaned and Populated the TYPE field Populated the PARCELID field Populated the YR_BUILT field Populated LAT_DD field Populated LONG_DD field Populated DESCRIPT field based on NAME Populated UPDATE_DAY field based on date of update Populated FGDLAQDATE based on date of data acquisition Added & Populated the following fields: -GCID -OPERATING -OP_CLASS -FSOURCE -SERVICES -FSOURCE -DATASOURCE -MGRS Process Date: 20151015
